Nice Pre-Draft Research, Padres


Looks like the Padres have made another spectacular first-round draft pick.
The team has suddenly halted negotiations with its top pick, first baseman Allan Dykstra of Wake Forest, because of concerns over a medical issue.
The medical issue that worries the Padres is a hip surgery that took place several years ago, when Dykstra was at Rancho Bernardo High.
It could be a valid concern.
But as Adam Sandler might put it, YOU COULDN'T DISCOVER THIS BEFORE THE DRAFT?!?!

Winning on behalf of gutty little underdogs everywhere, Tiger Woods captured the U.S. Open on Monday, after an 18-hole playoff plus a sudden-death playoff against Rocco Mediate at Torrey Pines.

Tiger Woods did not win the U.S. Open on Sunday.
Now, don't go jumping off a bridge just yet, Chester.
Tiger can still win it Monday, when he and Rocco Mediate go at it in an 18-hole playoff at Torrey Pines.
