Truly a San Diego Team

The No. 4 team in the nation?
Who's doing the voting, cataracts patients?
Wilting under the heat of increased expectations, the University of San Diego baseball team went winless in its own regional, losing Saturday's NCAA elimination game to Minnesota 6-5 in 10 innings.
Are we surprised?
Yeah, about as surprised as we are when the words "Lindsay Lohan" and "DUI" appear in the same headline.
Everything we said after Friday's embarrassing Torero loss to Fresno State goes double after this one.
San Diego teams are simply incapable of handling the pressure of increased expectations. We don't need to remind you of how last season's 14-2 Chargers did in the playoffs, do we? And we don't need to remind of you how badly the Padres stunk it up in the postseason the past two seasons, do we?
But look on the bright side, Toreros, at least you had a better season than the Aztecs.

The Autumn Reeser Pic of the Day

UCLA's Daily Bruin has a nice article on our favorite former Carlsbad High cheerleader, Autumn Reeser.
Not that we need an excuse to post a pic of former Carlsbad High cheerleader Autumn Reeser, but today marks the 100-day anniversary of the final episode of "The OC."

Choketown, USA

Following in the footsteps of every San Diego sports team before them, the University of San Diego Toreros crumbled under the pressure of high expectations Friday night in the NCAA baseball regionals at Tony Gwynn Stadium.
Top-seeded USD, ranked No. 4 in the polls, stumbled its way to a 6-2 loss to fourth-seeded Fresno State, the lowest-seeded team in the regional.
Great job, guys.
The Chargers, Padres and Aztecs would be proud of this tremendous performance.
