The University of San Diego defeated Gonzaga 69-62 on Monday night in the West Coast Conference tournament championship game, giving the Toreros an automatic berth in the NCAA basketball tournament.

What this means, of course, is San Diego State will get bounced in the first round of the Mountain West Conference tournament later in the week -- because this town isn't big enough for two championship teams at the same time.
