KT Giveth, and Giveth Away

The Padres' lineup has all the power of a girls 12-year-old softball squad.
Yet, Kevin Towers seems to think everything is just fine and dandy. So fine and dandy that when the organization accidentally manages to produce a home-grown position player with power, what does Towers do? He gives him away.
Jack Cust has bean tearing up the American League since the Oakland A's acquired him from the Padres recently. Cust has hit six home runs in 26-at bats, and he ripped a walk-off homer Sunday that gave him 14 RBIs in seven games.
But you might have missed what the Padres got in exchange for Cust. Towers, the club's general manager who answers to the colorful nickname "KT," sold Cust to Oakland for $100,000.
That's it, $100,000. The Padres got no players in return, no farmhands, nothing else.
In baseball currency, $100,000 is essentially nothing.
Another spectacular job there, KT.
So tell us again, why does KT still have a job?

Thanks, Mavs

A big shout out to the Dallas Mavericks for their sensational performance in their first-round NBA playoff series against the Golden State Warriors.
What this means is the 2006 San Diego Chargers are now the second-biggest frauds in recent sports memory.
